To promote bicycle travel, municipalities should consider providing storage and changing facilities for cyclists at certain destinations. Having adequate facilities for bicycle parking provides convenience and security for cyclists. Individuals may be more inclined to bike to work if they could protect their bikes from theft or vandalism and/or if they had space to change or shower after they ride.
